Our hotel is located just 30 kilometers south of Regensburg in the administrative district of Kelheim. The region “Hallertau” that is close to the hotel is the world’s largest area where hops is grown and it is well-known for its beauty and pristine beauty. In the villages and towns of this region, good old Bavarian tradition meets the modern lifestyle of the local population. The area features numerous historic treasures and versatile leisure activities. Ideal to have a great time in Rohr and to get to know Lower Bavaria.
Kids
We are a family-friendly hotel and restaurant and are always happy to welcome children. They all love our playground that you will find right next to the pleasantly shady beer garden. Parents and older siblings can enjoy our delicious food and beverages at the beer garden while the little ones can also have a great time.
Hiking
The area is lucky to have numerous hiking trails and Nordic Walking trails. Equipped with a map of the local hiking network, our guests can experience the versatile area. In addition, the map points towards the local sights and it is available free of charge. Start right at the hotel and go on wonderful walks and hikes.
Biking
The Laaber-Abends bike trail and the pilgrimage church of Laaber, like a few other bike trails, lead past our hotel in Rohr. You will find bike tours for all skill levels in our area. And you can put your bike in our bike shelter for free.
Our guests can charge their e-bike free of charge during the opening hours.
Sights
The famous abbey church of Rohr that is dedicated to the Assumption and is part of the local Benedictine monastery. Built between 1717 and 1723 by the brother Cosmas and Damian Asam, the church is an important and well-preserved sight that attracts numerous guests each year.
Horseback Riding
There are three excellent equestrian sports facilities in Rohr: horseback-riding hall, the show jumping hall as well as the dressage and vaulting course. Outings on horseback and horseback-riding lessons are popular among visitors. The last weekend in September has been attracting horse enthusiasts from all around Bavaria since 1963: the “Großes Spring- und Dressurturnier” (the big show jumping and dressage tournament) by the local equestrian sports club, the “Reit- und Fahrverein Rohr”.
Sports
The people of Rohr enjoy an active lifestyle. If they are not out in nature for a day trip, they can choose from lots of other fun sports facilities. The tennis courts invite you for an exciting match among friends no matter the season. The heated outdoor swimming center with well-kept lawn offers the opportunity to go for a cool swim and relax on hot days.
